Battle Away followed up her recent Killarney success with another impressive display in the Follow Us On Instagram Mares' Handicap Hurdle at Cork.

Off the track for 3 years, before landing a gamble on her reappearance last time, the Ross O'Sullivan trained mare quickly doubled up under Jack Foley.

A former point-to-point winner, the daughter of Getaway has already more than vindicated the decision to put her back into training this summer.

Held up towards rear by Foley, Battle Away made steady headway early in the straight before delivering her challenge before the final flight. A big jump at that obstacle saw her quicken away from rivals to win easily.

Jack Foley said; “I gave her a chance leaving the back straight and I knew she’d pick up. When I jumped the second last I was confident that she’d get there.

“My only worry was that she was off for so long and having two quick runs back but Ross has done a fantastic job on her and please god she will stay improving.”
