Bearer out for season King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes runner-up Tartan Bearer will miss the remainder of the season. The Sir Michael Stoute-trained four-year-old was due to tackle Sea The Stars in the Juddmonte International at York earlier this week but was a late withdrawal due to lameness. Runner-up in both last season's Derby and this year's Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot, the Irish Champion Stakes and the Newmarket equivalent would have been on his agenda. "He's out for the year," said Peter Reynolds, racing manager to the owners, Ballymacoll Stud. "The injury is not life-threatening but we'll just have to see how he gets on. We've had a wonderful year so we can't complain too much."
