Bearnai could return at Navan Lion Na Bearnai, winner of the 2012 Irish National, could return over fences in the Foxrock Handicap Chase at Navan on Sunday. The 12-year-old gelding looked somewhere near back to his best with a pleasing comeback run over hurdles at Fairyhouse in November. He had previously only been sighted twice last season, when pulled up in both the Hennessy at Newbury and in the Scottish National at Ayr. Lion Na Bearnai is one of 16 possible runners confirmed for the valuable Grade C handicap over two and a half miles. Willie Mullins could saddle Balnaslow and Popcorn, while Shrapnel is a worthy ally for the Gordon Elliott team. Others of note include the much-touted Minsk, Grade One-winning hurdler Shinrock Paddy and recent Fairyhouse scorer She's Got Grit.
