Junior Bee gained a deserved success when just prevailing in a photo finish to claim the BoyleSports Handicap Hurdle at Wexford.

The Mark Molloy-trained mare was sent to post 13/8 favourite in the two-mile-one contest having been placed on her previous three outings.

Jordan Gainford sent his mount to the front four from home but she was joined going to the second last by Tullypole Annie

The two mares settled down to battle it out from there and Junior Bee just had her head down at the right time to record a short-head victory at the line.

“She's a mare that is settling with racing, she's always been very keen, and it's nice to see her get her head in front. She deserved that,” said Molloy.

“She keeps coming out of her races well and it's all about learning about racing, some of them get there sooner than others.

“We might give a little chance after that and I'm looking forward to her going over fences.”
