Bella Union bagged a quick follow-up success at Down Royal today for trainer John McConnell.

The Mahler gelding had opened his account at Bellewstown 16 days ago and went to post an 8/1 shot in the Club Lemon Handicap Hurdle.

Dylan Kidd produced his mount to press Justicialism two from home in the two-mile-one contest and he led after the last for a three-parts-of-a-length success.

Kidd said: "He did it nicely.

"He won the last day in Bellewstown and probably the seven (pound claim) off today really helped. Nice to get it.

"I was in no rush, he's a bit of a tricky horse to ride really and you just kind of have to ride him his own way. Hopefully, he's on his day then.

"He did win cosily enough, so hopefully he has more up his sleeve. That (Justicialism arriving up three out) did me more favours, thank God."
