Benbulben goes for Grade 1 glory Gordon Elliott's Mount Benbulben will go for Grade One glory in the Navan Novice Hurdle on Sunday. Connections stumped up £250,000 for the dual bumper winner at Cheltenham's Brightwells sale in April and he has made a fine start to his career over hurdles, winning twice from three starts and slipping up on his other run. He battled to victory in the Monksfield Novice Hurdle over Sunday's course and distance on his latest appearance and Elliott is in confident mood. "He's a definite runner if all goes well between now and Sunday," said Elliott. "He's in good form and has done everything right so far, so hopefully he goes to Navan with a big shout. "He's won on heavy ground so that won't be a problem. We're looking forward to it." Mount Benbulben features among just four entries for the two-and-a-half-mile event, with champion trainer Willie Mullins set to saddle Boston Bob for owner Graham Wylie. Ipsos Du Berlais could represent Noel Meade, while Jetson from the Jessica Harrington stable is the other possible runner.
