Benson shines on Happen Can Happen was given a well judged ride by Georgie Benson to land the Racing TV Ladies Handicap Hurdle at Navan. The 5/1 joint favourite was produced to lead going to the last in the two-mile-five contest and found plenty on the run-in. Peter Flood’s charge was always doing enough late on to hold Sallap by three-parts-of-a-length. It was a second hurdles success for the Vadamos gelding since joining Flood and he had also been second under Benson on the Flat at Bellewstown back in early July. Flood said: "She gave him a great ride because his jumping has been a little bit 'iffy' for us. Georgie is very good at getting the horse's confidence going. "He ran well for her on the Flat in Bellewstown and he ran well in Killarney as well. "He's a horse with plenty of ability, little bit of an oddball, but great for the lads. "He might go to Cheltenham in October. We stepped him up in trip today and he seemed to enjoy that. There's a two-and-a-half-mile handicap in Cheltenham. We might as well chance something a bit better. "A big weight today as well." (Quotes by Michael Graham)
