Berg Bahn set for Glorious Goodwood trip Berg Bahn could be set for a trip to Glorious Goodwood for the Oak Tree Stakes on July 30 after her success in the Brownstown Stakes on Wednesday evening. Ger Lyons' filly was having only the sixth start of her career, having twice performed admirably at the Dubai carnival. She finished mid-division behind Timepiece in the Sandringham Handicap at Royal Ascot but showed the benefit of that outing at Fairyhouse. "At Ascot she needed the run, but we knew when she returned she was absolutely thriving but we weren't sure quality-wise whether she was up to it because we don't work them that way at home," said Lyons. "The way she won - the future is bright. "She's won her Group Three so anything more is a bonus, but the way she performed I'd say there's improvement in her. "You can argue a lot of horses didn't run up to their form, but Keagan (Latham) only gave her a hard ride. "It's been a great year for the owner (Cristina Patino), she's been a great supporter of the yard. "She's been with me 15 years and it is just rewards for a woman who supports Irish racing so much, and she achieves success with homebreds. "This horse and the Oaks filly (Snow Fairy) all went through the ring at little or no money so it's very sweet. "There's a chance she could run in the Oak Tree Stakes at Goodwood at the end of the month. "The owner has an affinity with the place and has a lot of horses run there that are with John Dunlop."
