Berry number one to Oxx John Oxx confirmed at the Horse Racing Ireland 2009 awards lunch at Leopardstown racecourse this afternoon that Fran Berry will ride as stable jockey for Currabeg during the 2010 season. Twenty-eight-year-old Berry has been number two to the recently retired Mick Kinane in recent years and the rider, currently in Hong Kong, is favourite with Paddy Power to land next year's crown. They bet the Irish 2010 Flat Jockeys Championship – 1/1 Fran Berry, 2/1 Johnny Murtagh, 11/4 Pat Smullen and 14/1 bar. However Berry is available at 11/4 with Stan James and 3/1 with Ladbrokes.
