Betting reopened in Jockeys' Championship

The injury to Paul Townend’s collarbone at Navan on Saturday has thrown a lifeline to his nearest pursuers in the Irish Jump Jockeys’ Championship, with Boylesports reopening betting on the market.

Townend has a nine winner lead over Russell (76-67), with twice Champion Carberry (61) and McNamara (60) also in pursuit. Boylesports have reopened the market with Townend the 6/4 favourite, Russell 7/4, Carberry 2/1 and McNamara at 25/1.

The season is set to finish at Punchestown on May 7.
