Big Negotiator takes step forward to land Listed Marwell Stakes The Paddy Twomey-trained Big Negotiator was victorious in the Listed Arqana Irish EBF Marwell Stakes for jockey Wayne Lordan. The daughter of Havana Grey showed a good attitude having been prominent throughout the contest to win by 1¼ lengths from the Harry Eustace-trained Shimmering Sun. Speaking after the race, trainer Paddy Twomey said: "It was her sixth run so she is good and hardy. She was unlucky here the last day against the colts. She was pushed across the track. She went off 15/8 the other day and she was 20/1, I couldn't believe it, today. I thought it was nuts. She is a good, tough filly and I'm very happy for her. "The other lady (Concorde Landed) looked a bit fresh. Billy said she was a bit fresh going to the start and I just thought she took a bad step there maybe a furlong down if you watch it back. She'll come on from it. Hard to beat the six runs." Paddy Power have cut Big Negotiator to 33/1 for the Lowther Stakes at York (from 66/1) (Quotes from John O'Riordan)
