Big finish at Curragh on Sunday It is unlikely too many will be heading for the exits early at the Curragh on Sunday as the eight-race programme concludes with the Listed Loughbrown Stakes. Last year's first and fourth from the two-miler, Toe The Line and Shu Lewis, are back in search of further prize-money and the latter is now equipped with blinkers for the first time. She wore cheekpieces on her latest outing, and her fourth placing in the Saval Beg behind Kingfisher entitles her to every consideration now. Certerach, winner of the Dubai Gold Cup from last year, is also tried in headgear as Michael Halford endeavours to get his charge back to something approaching the same level. The seven-year-old Halling gelding is nought from five for his outings at Headquarters and the one he finished behind last time, Silwana, will justifiably be the selection of many here. Silwana was a stylish winner of the Petingo Handicap at Leopardstown on Champions Weekend and her rating rose from 99 to 110 as a result. That level of performance will see Dermot Weld and Pat Smullen's representative difficult to defeat, especially considering that she is already a victor over the course and distance. At the other end of the spectrum, the sprinters have the limelight in the long-standing Joe McGrath Handicap, and no less than seven of these have competed in this five-furlong affair in the past. The 2014 principals, Prince Connoisseur and Captain Cullen, can get involved at the business end again, but it may be that they all have to yield to the consistent Master Speaker. Just over an hour later, the Manguard Plus Amateur Derby (Q.R.) Handicap is perhaps bound for a resurgent Shamar. Elsewhere, owner Sean Jones and trainer Ger Lyons launch a two-pronged bid on the Bill Keogh Memorial Handicap, with Colin Keane's mount Chenega Bay fancied to come out on top.
