Big guns stay in Haydock Sprint

All the leading fancies stood their ground for the Stanley Leisure Sprint Cup today despite a marked deterioration in ground conditions.

The going is now soft, heavy in places at rain-hit Haydock Park which stages Saturday`s Stg£150,000 race.

But 13 horses were left in at the final declaration stage for the Group One event, including the sponsors` favourite Three Points, Aidan O`Brien`s pair Minardi and Mull Of Kintyre plus last year`s winner Pipalong and French challenger Nuclear Debate.

Declarations: Harmonic Way, Kier Park, Lincoln Dancer, Monkston Point, Mount Abu, Mull Of Kintyre, Nuclear Debate, Tedburrow, Three Points, Minardi, Orientor, Pipalong, Summerhill Parkes (13).
