Naas staged a rare two-runner Flat race today, with the Jessica Harrington-trained, Shane Foley-partnered Oro Blanco (8/11f) defeating Gavoo (1/1f) in the Race & Stay Irish Racing Tours Rated Race.

Four runners had been declared for the six-furlong contest and with Go Just Do It (reported off feed), Amiata (temperature) being withdrawn, 82-rated Oro Blanco led his 87-rated opponent Gavoo.

While looking around out in front and pressed over a furlong out, Oro Blanco battled well to score by three-parts of a length.

Regarding her Rebels & Rogues Syndicate-owned winner, Harrington said “he was looking at everything but was always doing enough and is progressive.

“He’s run over a mile, and seven furlongs, but he’s probably not a six-furlong horse so could step up in trip again. He’s a big horse for a Havana Grey and hopefully can improve again.”

Oro Blanco translates from Spanish to 'white gold'.
