A committee decision to use blinkers cured Collective Power from a bout of seconditis today, as the Eddie Lynam trained gelding landed Dundalk's sprint handicap under jockey Scott McCullagh.

The son of Slade Power's form-figures were '225222' coming into today's race and while beaten a neck on each of his last two starts, today routed his rivals when beating runner-up Maggie Thunder by three and a quarter lengths.

Lynam later joked “my daughter Sarah had been telling me to put blinkers on, and then Chris Hayes (jockey) told me, so I didn't know whether I wanted him to win or lose! I've had to listen to them already.”

He added “he was second five times in his last six starts and I didn't think he was doing much wrong. I think we probably found the right race today but it is great to get it. He finished it out very well.

"He's finished for here so he will go to turf - Scott (McCullagh) is keen for him to go to the turf."
