Blinkers prove key as Sinbad reverses form with Lough Leane Having finished well behind Lough Leane at Down Royal last time, Sinbad My Dad reversed that form when staying on late under Keithen Kennedy to win the Camida Gold Champion Handicap at Clonmel. Fitted with first time blinkers, the Seamus Fahey trained gelding was dropped out towards rear as the pace proved strong up front. Pushed along entering the straight, the Mrs Helen Butler, John A Griffin and Mrs Bernadette Fahey owned 9/2 chance still had plenty to do. However, once Kennedy switched out, his mount found plenty inside the final furlong, leading over 100 yards out to beat Lough Leane by two-and-a-half lengths. Seamus Fahey said: "The horse is a little bit of a rogue and is reluctant to go in to the stalls and is then slowly out. He likes that ground and while he ran well here in the past, threw it away at the start. "We knew he'd handle the track so we're delighted to get this second win with him. He has lots of ability but looks after himself and we might go over hurdles with him. "That is Keithen's first winner for me, and he actually started off riding out for me. He is also from Monasterevin and is from a talented family, as his sister is a multiple world champion at Irish dancing. They're a lovely family as well, which is more important, so I didn't want him walking around Monasterevin saying I hadn't given him a winner!" (Quotes by Thomas Weekes).
