Blonde Over Blue asserted in the closing stages to make a winning debut for Joseph O’Brien in the opening Irish Stallion Farms Fillies Maiden at Leopardstown.

The Lope De Vega filly went to post a 6/1 shot in the seven-furlong contest and tracked the leaders under Dylan Browne McMonagle.

She challenged passing the furlong pole, joining front-runner Margot Mae and 2/1 joint-favourite Ibelieveicanfly

It was Blonde Over Blue who stuck her head in front in the closing stages.

She secured a three-parts-of-a-length success as Alpha the other market leader and Ballydoyle filly, stayed on for second.

The winner is out of Italian Group 3 winner American Bridge and was a 400,000gns yearling.

"I'm delighted with that, she is a nice filly. It was a strong maiden here in Leopardstown, of course," said winning trainer Joseph O'Brien.

“She got a lovely position, found the line well and you'd be excited about her future.

"I suppose the plan would be either the Chesham in Ascot or come back here for the Silver Flash Stakes later in the summer.

“We'll see how she pulls up, and discuss it with Mr. Oxley and the ownership group."
