Board Leads Bailey's Betting Following Dylan's Defeat

After Dylan Thomas's defeat in today's Juddmonte International at York, William Hill have revised their book on September's Bailey's Irish Champion Stakes.

The bookmakers now make Ouija Board their new 9-4 favourite for Leopardstown contest, while Dylan Thomas who was a disappointing odds on favourite in Juddmonte, has been pushed out from 13-8 to 7-2 for the Bailey's sponsored contest.

The runner-up in the Juddmonte, Maraahel was also cut for the Irish Champion Stakes. William Hill slashed the five years olds price from 12-1 to 6-1, for the 10 furlong contest at Leopardstown next month.

Tony Kenny, William Hill's Irish spokesman commented 'Dylan Thomas's defeat was a cracking result for the bookmakers. Before the race punters were backing the three year old like defeat was out of the question.' He continued 'Straight after the race we promoted Ouija Board to the head of Bailey's Irish Champion Stakes betting, but If Aidan O'Brien uses a pacemaker at Leopardstown, we should see Dylan Thomas return to his brilliant best'
