All roads lead back to Cheltenham for the reigning Stayers' Hurdle hero Bob Olinger. With that in mind, connections are planning to mind the veteran, with the festival being his main target next year.

Unbeaten in four runs at the track, the Henry De Bromhead trained gelding enjoyed one of his biggest days when landing the feature race last March.

Speaking on Friday, Robbie Power said: "He is only just back in, is just trotting and doing one small canter every day. He summered really, really well, he put on plenty of condition and he'll be with me for another six weeks before going back to Henry.

"After he came back from Cheltenham, we had Punchestown on our minds but he wasn't firing in the week beforehand so we let him alone and did what was right by the horse.

"You won't see him until Christmas time and he'll either have one run, or maximum two, before going back to Cheltenham. He is getting on in years so we have to mind him.

"There is the three-mile hurdle for him at Leopardstown during Christmas and while he could go to the (earlier) Lismullen, he would have to carry a big penalty in that. He is big and fat at the moment but he will tell us when he is ready to go and it will possibly be one run and then straight to Cheltenham."
