Bocca Baciata seeks first Group One win Bocca Baciata bids to strike Group One gold for the first time in Sunday's Prix Jean Romanet at Deauville. Jessica Harrington's filly has been admirably consistent in good company throughout her career, winning five of her 16 starts and placing on a further five occasions. She has run two excellent races at Group One level this term, most notably chasing home the brilliant Minding in the Pretty Polly Stakes, and was not winning out of turn when making the most of having her sights lowered in the Kilboy Estate Stakes at the Curragh last month. Alan Cooper, racing manager for owners Flaxman Stables Ireland, said: " Jessie has been pleased with the way she's been working and we're looking forward to running her. "She's a Group Three winner, a Group Two winner and Group One placed, so it would be great for her to win a Group One. "It looks an open race and we'll see how it goes on the day." Bocca Baciata faces nine rivals in the 10-furlong contest, with the David Simcock-trained pair of Bateel and Carnachy joined on the trip from Britain by James Fanshawe's Speedy Boarding. The latter claimed the Group Two Prix Corrida at Saint-Cloud on her penultimate start before finishing last of five in the Pretty Polly. Fanshawe won the Prix Jean Romanet two years ago with Ribbons. "We've had this in mind for a while and she seems in good form," said Fanshawe. "It was a bit of a muddling race in Ireland last time. I think everyone was worrying a bit too much about Minding instead of getting on with the race. "It looks a competitive race on Sunday, so we'll see how we get on." Alain de Royer-Dupre saddles Sayana, who bids to bounce back from a short-priced defeat in the Princess Elizabeth Stakes at Epsom on Derby day. Ame Bleue, Royal Solitaire, former Jim Bolger inmate Steip Amach, Sea Front and Game Theory complete the field.
