Jim Bolger introduced another smart looking colt in the opener at the Curragh today when Strike For Freedom quickened up nicely to make a winning debut.

The son of Dream Ahead tracked the leader in the six furlong contest before being asked for an effort, by Kevin Manning, a furlong-and-a-half from home.

He found another gear inside the final furlong to grab Moghamarah in the closing stages for a neck success.

The 3/1 winner is from the family of Sholokhov, Soldier Of Fortune and Intense Focus.

“He'll get a trip and he would handle better ground,” said Bolger.

“We'll see how he comes out of it and we might look at races like the Tyros for him. That could be the route for him.”

Bolger had also introduced impressive winner Verbal Dexterity in the opening race here yesterday.
