Boola Times it well to open account A change of tactics worked a treat for Boola Times (4/1 favourite) as he got of the mark in the first division of the Treo Eile Handicap Hurdle at Wexford. Darragh O’Keeffe produced his mount from off a strong pace to lead over the second-last in the two-and-a-half mile contest. Owned by Alan Gray and David Keohane, the Awtaad gelding stayed on well in the closing stages to post a two-and-a-quarter length success over Bruise Hill. Budds said of the 4/1 favourite:- “We probably made too much use of him the last two days and didn’t think he got home both days, so we said we’d drop him out today," said winning trainer Ken Budds (third winner from last five runners). “They went plenty quick and it suited, he loved going through them. Sure he got there and he won, so we’re happy with that. “We thought he needed to be handy the whole time and he didn’t. We said we’d take our time today, he travelled and they came back to him. “He’s a nice horse, he works really well at home. He has been a bit disappointing on the track, but maybe this is just the right way to ride him.”
