Both Wexford and Galway will stage 8am inspections on Sunday morning, following the recent wet spell of weather.

Wexford's Clerk of the Course Niall Madden reports “following a further 10mm of rain since our update at 8am this morning, the ground at Wexford is now soft to heavy.

"We have had over 40mm of rain at the track since Thursday but it has taken it verv well. It does look like the heaviest rain today is now beyond us, however, we could still get a further 8mm of rain by this evening. There is a more favourable forecast tonight into tomorrow morning before the rain returns in the early hours of Monday morning.

"Due to the current conditions and with some further rain forecast we will hold a precautionary inspection at 8am tomorrow [Sunday] morning.”

Galway's Clerk of the course Shane Ryder reports "the Status Orange rain warning associated with Storm Boelo has now ended in the Galway area, although the Status Orange wind warning remains in place until 9am tomorrow morning,

"Since our update at 8am, we've had a further 14mm of rain and the ground has now eased further to soft to heavy, heavy in places on the Chase course, soft to heavy on our Hurdle line and the Flat track on our innermost line remains heavy.

"While the worst of the rain has passed, it is still raining here at present and we could get some further showers into the evening.

"In preparation for the rainfall that was due today, the ground staff here at Galway covered a small area of the track to give us every chance of racing. While the track is fit for racing at present, we do need to wait for the Status Orange wind warning to ease before we can lift the covers and therefore there will be a 8am precautionary inspection on Sunday morning."
