Gordon Elliott and Jack Kennedy teamed up for another winner at Leopardstown when Bowensonfire (3/1 fav) took the National Maternity Hospital Foundation Handicap Hurdle.

The French-bred five-year-old, owned by KTDA Racing, came from well off the pace and was ridden into second at the last. He collared Prairie Dancer in the closing stages to post a length and a quarter success.

It completed a quick double for Kennedy and was a third of the afternoon for rampant winning trainer Elliott who enthused "Jack is riding out of his skin and deserves every bit of luck he is getting. He’s had more knocks than most but he’s coming back stronger and stronger.

"The ride he gave that horse was unbelievable. I was slagging him coming in, that it took him enough goes to figure out how to ride him! He’s a tricky horse, but he said he got bumped at the first and ended up a bit wide and it may have suited.

"He's a horse to run in all the good handicap hurdles. He travels and when he gets luck in running, he picks up prize money.

"I'm delighted for the lads who are all here."
