Of course he’s out of a full-sister to 14-time winner, The Grey Monk, by that good sire of chasers, Witness Box and now we could be seeing Boxing Along at the upcoming Cheltenham or Aintree Festivals.

The nine-year-old booked his ticket by landing the Ballylinch Stud Open Lightweight Race at Sunday’s Kilkenny Hunt point-to-point races at Bennesttsbridge.

One from twenty under Rules and now three wins from nine 'between the flags,' Boxing Along (Paul Power up) got the better of Major Finnegan (a useful track horse in his time) from before the last. He went on to prevail by four lengths and six lengths from Major Finnegan and Strongpoint.

Waterford-based Vincent Halley trains Boxing Along for his parents, Pamela and Lar and he said: "He came out of his last run (5th behind Salsify on Hennessy Day at Leopardstown) brilliant. He was very fresh at home so we came here.

"He’s now qualified, his form is good enough and he could go to Cheltenham or Aintree. We’ll keep our options open."
