Boxing Great gives Cawley family 'a great day' Paul Cawley Boxing Great home in the Fegentri Wold Championship (Q.R.) Handicap at Leopardstown to put the seal on a wonderful night for his family. His brother Brian trained In The Minus to score at 40/1 in a handicap hurdle at Sligo earlier. Jockey Cawley was fully last some three furlongs out in this staying assignment. Boxing Great began to get stoked up on the outer inside the final quarter of a mile, but was then slightly hampered by Not Just Any Eagle near the furlong marker. Those two horses stayed on in the closing stages and it was 7/4 favourite Boxing Great who dropped his head on the line to strike by that margin over Not Just Any Eagle (5/2). Catalani was just a neck back in third at 28/1. Cawley said: "That's my 17th winner, I think, on the track. I've 18 point-to-point winners ridden. "I was slow away, so I said I'd give him a chance and hopefully it would fall apart in front of me and I'd be able to pick up the pieces. "My brother Brian had a winner in Sligo as well tonight, so it was a great day." Karl Thornton's Boxing Great was last seen finishing eighth in the Northumberland Vase at Newcastle.
