Bramall back at Wexford Wexford regulars will remember that likeable little chestnut Antonin (a Cheltenham Festival winner) running away with the featured Bewleys Of Newlands Cross Ext. Handicap Chase at Wexford on October 27th 1996 and almost sixteen years to the day later, his trainer, Sue Bramall returns to the training ranks in Ireland. She runs Snooze in the Bettyville Park Beginners Chase on Sunday. Mrs Sue Bramall's last runner in Ireland is listed as being Heemanela at the Galway Festival in 2005. In fact that horse was a winner, under Declan McDonogh, in the HP Storage Works Handicap. Mrs Bramall recently advertised in the Irish Field for a trainer assistant for her small National Hunt Clonegal, County Wexford yard. Speaking on a poor phone line on Friday afternoon Bramall explained: "I've been in France and my daughter Anna held a licence in England. She's now in the ownership ranks as she's just had a baby and she's put her horses with James Ewart. "She's just had a winner actually (Sacre Toi who landed a gamble in the 12.00 at Newcastle). That horse was first time out this season so that's a good start for her. "I'm out myself on Sunday down at Wexford. We'll see what happens there. "I've had quite a bit of luck there and I quite like the track. "I'm training out of a different place now – in Clonegal. I'll have just a handful for the National Hunt. "I had a winner in Galway in 2005 alright and that would be my last in Ireland but I had a winner in France about six weeks ago. "I've still got horses in France as well – there are horses all over the place." (EM)
