Brave Display 'turned up' at Down Royal today as the seven year old won for the sixth time with a facile win in the Metcollect Handicap (div I), scoring for trainer James Lambe and jockey Seamie Heffernan.

Stallion Requinto was responsible for 35-minutes earlier winner Chocquinto and also sired Brave Display who today scored an easy six lengths win under jockey Seamie Heffernan, having finished 19th of 30 on his previous run at the Curragh.

Lambe later said "Seamie gave him a great ride and in fairness he had ability before, so some days he turns up and some days he doesn't. Seamie said to me that I ran him back probably a little bit too quick on yielding ground but the ground today suited him.

“I think he really enjoyed the ground and we just changed sheepskin cheekpieces to blinkers.

"It's great to get it at my local meeting and great to get it for my big supporter Richard Behan who is very important to me. I'll speak to the owner and we'll make a decision but we have taken small steps with him so we'll keep taking the small steps."
