Breeders' Cup Still An Option For Thomas Aidan O'Brien has not ruled Dylan Thomas out of an appearance at the Breeders' Cup next month ? but he will definitely not be asked to race on dirt.The Irish Derby and Champion Stakes winner ran a shocker on his first outing on the surface in the Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont Park on Saturday, trailing home last behind the brilliant Bernardini.Dylan Thomas was unsurprisingly reported to be unsuited by the conditions in the four-runner mile-and-a-quarter event to leave O'Brien abandoning plans for the Breeders' Cup Classic at Churchill Downs on November 4.The Ballydoyle handler is now weighing up the possibility of the Danehill colt taking his chance in the Breeders' Cup Turf over a mile and a half instead.'The jockey (John Velazquez) told me after the race that he didn't handle the dirt at all,' explained O'Brien.'That was obvious after only a furlong.'The horse is a possible for the Breeders' Cup Turf but definitely not the Classic.'(C) PA Sport
