Brennan: Berry Ripe For Aintree Paddy Brennan insists he would not swap his John Smith's Grand National mount Bewleys Berry for any other runner in the Aintree showpiece.Brennan has enjoyed a successful first season as retained rider to powerful owner Graham Wylie, a partnership cemented with the Cheltenham Festival success of Inglis Drever in the Ladbrokes World Hurdle. And the young Irishman, who partnered Bewleys Berry to finish second behind Eurotrek in the Becher Chase in November over the National fences, cannot wait for April 14 to come around.'He ran a good race at Ascot first time out this season when Tony Dobbin rode him,' said Brennan.'When I rode him in the Becher he gave me my best ever ride over the National fences, he was brilliant that day.'He then ran at Haydock after that, but hated the very heavy ground that day so that is best forgotten.'I wouldn't swap him for anything else in the race. I'm not saying he is definitely going to win because you can't say that before the National, but he is going very well at home,' he told At The Races.'You may as well buy a lottery ticket as try and win a Grand National though ? I think you'd have more chance of winning the lottery!'You just need to look at Tony McCoy's record to see that. Mind you, I wouldn't mind having his record if it meant not winning a National.'Bewleys Berry is a general 25-1 chance for the Aintree spectacular.(C) PA Sport
