Bog War (6/4 favourite from around 7/2 this morning) was a very strong order for the concluding Winter Racing At Dundalk Handicap (Division Two) but he came up short behind 8/1 scorer Pivot Bridge

Seven pound Gary Phillips brought Pivot Bridge with a telling challenge down the outer in the straight and he ended up comfortably defeating Well Insured by two and a half lengths. The aforementioned Bog War was a neck adrift in third.

"He burst over hurdles and I sent him back to Dan (Daly, owner, based in Dunshaughlin, County Meath).

"He ran well here over ten furlongs the last day from a wide draw.

"He won well there and hopefully he can pick up another one. He'll go back over hurdles too," reported successful trainer Ado McGuinness. (AM & EM)
