Brookhouse pondering trainer for Neck Owner Roger Brookhouse is weighing up his options regarding who will train his valuable recruit Neck Or Nothing. Trainer Tom Hogan described the four-year-old as a "machine" after he made a winning debut at Punchestown last month and he was declared for the Listed bumper at Cheltenham on Sunday. Prior to running, the youngster was snapped up by Brookhouse at Cheltenham's Brightwells Sale on Friday evening for £200,000. Neck Or Nothing travelled powerfully in the hands of Denis O'Regan, but lost all chance of winning when he jumped the path and stumbled shortly before the home bend. He was far from disgraced in finishing eighth and Brookhouse hopes there is plenty to look forward to. He said: "I don't know why they don't colour in that path green. I think there were three horses jumped the path there over the weekend and other tracks do put grass cuttings down. "He was going well at the time and I think he should have been there or thereabouts. "I've brought him home to have a holiday for a few weeks. I like to have new horses at home so I can have a look at them and a play around with them. "I do a bit of pre-training myself before they go into training and I'll give him a few weeks off before we make any decisions." Asked whether the horse could remain in Hogan's care, Brookhouse said: "Everything is possible. Nothing is decided until I've made a decision." In Cheltenham's mares' bumper on Saturday, the Brookhouse-owned Legacy Gold performed creditably to finish third. Another expensive purchase, costing Brookhouse £210,000 after winning a Listed bumper at Aintree in the spring for Stuart Crawford, the David Pipe-trained five-year-old is set to go jumping. "She ran very well. She'd actually only been with David a few weeks and she just blew up. I think she'll go hurdling now," said Brookhouse.
