Bubble Gum is set to go back up in trip after finishing unplaced in the Group 3 Park Express Stakes at the Curragh on stable debut for Johnny Murtagh.

She holds entries in the Group 3 Alleged Stakes over 10 furlongs at the Curragh this Sunday, in addition to an engagement in the Group 2 Mooresbridge Stakes over the same trip at Headquarters in May.

Murtagh said: “I was a little bit disappointed with her, but maybe a mile was a bit short for her.

“She showed plenty of pace at home and at that time of year I thought it was maybe okay.

“Stepping up to ten (furlongs) should suit her well, I think it’s the perfect trip.”

The Cloth Of Stars mare was a winner over a mile, and over nine furlongs, when trained in France by Fabrice Chappet, and delivered over an extended mile-and-a-half in the Listed Noblesse Stakes in Cork last season for Paddy Twomey.
