Bunyan's weather watch for Madame Thunder Trainer Darren Bunyan will go in search of better ground for Madame Thunder after she failed to fire in Listed company at Newbury. The daughter of Zebedee made a big impression when making a successful debut at Naas in April and was not disgraced for one so inexperienced when fifth in last month's Group Three Silver Flash Stakes at Leopardstown. Bunyan dropped his star filly back to the minimum distance for the St Hugh's Stakes and she was ultimately well held in eighth place. "The ground was just too soft for her, unfortunately. She's more ground dependent than we thought," said the trainer. "It was yielding to soft the day she won in Naas, but it was softer still at Newbury. Sometimes they handle it the first time and not the second time. "Most of her homework has been on good ground, so we'll just get home now and try and find something over six furlongs on decent ground. "It was disappointing on the day, but she didn't have a bad experience and was fine afterwards. "Leigh (Roche) didn't knock her around when her chance was gone and we live to fight another day."
