Bunyan sets sights on Royal Ascot run with Hit The Bid Trainer Darren Bunyan has Royal Ascot aspirations for progressive sprinter Hit The Bid following his return from a profitable stint in Dubai. The four-year-old colt represented his County Kildare handler with honour throughout the winter and earned connections over £77,000 with victory in a five-furlong handicap at Meydan in February. A slow start proved costly in the Al Quoz Sprint on Dubai World Cup night, but Bunyan is adamant he deserves to stay in Group One company. He said: "Hit The Bid arrived home on Tuesday evening and is 110 per cent. "He'll have a break now and the plan is to send him straight to Royal Ascot for the King's Stand Stakes. "There's also the option of a sprint in Hong Kong on April 28, but the likelihood is he'll head for the King's Stand. "We minded him last year with this season in mind as three-year-old sprinters are always thrown in at the deep end. "He's coming good now, though, and he's a horse with a big future."
