Burning Question absolutely roasted the opposition in the fillies' handicap over a mile at Listowel.

The three-year-old daughter of Holy Roman Emperor soon grabbed the lead and tanked along at the halfway stage.

Sheila Lavery 's charge moved three lengths clear at the three pole and all 11 rivals were hard at work with a quarter of a mile to negotiate.

She was well clear by the final furlong and sauntered home by 12 lengths at 11/2 (from 7/1). Waitingfortheday 9/2 joint favourite, took second with Check Your Pockets a couple of lengths further away in third at 12/1.

Jockey Gary Carroll said: "We had been waiting for slow ground with her all year but the heavy ground was still an unknown for her.

"She handled the ground a lot better than everything else and I hope the handicapper doesn't take the form too literally."
