Burrows happy to wait before making Gethin plan Owen Burrows is content to watch how the Prince of Wales’s Stakes plays out at Royal Ascot before confirming his next move with Gethin, with both the Coral-Eclipse and Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud possible options. The son of Ghaiyyath bravely went down on his shield in his first outing in the colours of Wathnan Racing, beaten only a neck by John and Thady Gosden’s star 10-furlong performer Ombudsman in the Brigadier Gerard Stakes. It was arguably a career-best performance against a quality line-up and leaves Burrows excited to test the waters at the highest level either home or abroad on the first weekend in July. Burrows said: “He’s got two options, either the Eclipse or Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud. We’ll let Royal Ascot go and see what happens there, then see what the ground is like at both Sandown and in France and have a chat from there. “He’s come out of the Brigadier Gerard well and has had a few canters and seems grand. “It was a very good run and I was very happy with him, it’s encouraging for the future.”
