Bus accident at York racecourse Seven people were taken to hospital with `minor cuts and bruises` after a double decker bus crashed into an overhead walkway outside the main entrance to York racecourse this morning.The vehicle was transporting catering workers to the course from Leeds and the front section of the upper deck was ripped back and two fire engines attended the scene.A police spokesman said: 'The accident happened at 11.30. The double decker usually is usually turned around before the bridge from the D car park to the course but on this occasion it collided with it -fortunately because of the building work there was no one on the bridge at the time.'The passengers were mainly students from Leeds and seven of them were taken to York District Hospital. The Vehicle Inspectorate from Leeds and North Yorkshire Police are investigating the incident.'
