Butney rocks up to Ballybrit Butney Rock is set to return to Galway on Wednesday for the valuable Ryans Cleaning Chase. Colin McBratney's charge ran a cracker when a 33-1 third over course and distance in the Latin Quarter Chase at the festival in July. He led after the last and was only collared close home, going down by less than two lengths. After that performance the handicapper moved him up 18lb to a mark of 131. McBratney said: "He jumped well and travelled well the last day, even though he was a bit free. That looked an above-average race. He's in great order and has come out of the race well. The ground should be ideal for him if they get no more rain. I'm looking forward to running him. "He got a fair hike (in the weights), but I'm not overly bothered about that as I think he could be a Galway Plate horse if he keeps progressing. He's still only a seven-year-old. "Noel McParlan, who rode him in Galway the last day, is away to Australia on holiday, so all being well Davy Russell rides him on Wednesday. He's never ridden him before, but he's a top-class jockey. "If the ground stays good there's a race for him in Navan at the end of the month, but I'm taking it day by day with him and have no immediate plans. If the ground comes heavy then I'll put him away."
