Charles Byrnes is excited about Trifolium having his first run of the new campaign, weather permitting, at Punchestown tomorrow.

The five-year-old was admirably consistent in his first season with Byrnes and starts a new term in the Ryan's Cleaning Events Specialists Hurdle.

He won three of his eight starts and was placed in the other five, including in both two-mile novice hurdles at the Cheltenham and Punchestown Festivals.

"I'm looking forward to it. He's in good form and he'll come on for the run but I think he's pretty forward enough to do himself justice," said the County Limerick trainer.

"The ground is not ideal, but that's the way things are here in Ireland at the moment. It's unbelievable."

Trifolium has to give weight to all his five rivals in this Grade Three contest for having been successful in the Grade Two Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle over this course and distance in February.
