Tomorrow`s meeting at Cheltenham has been abandoned due to freezing conditions.

Officials were due to look at the course at 3pm but brought the inspection forward.

Clerk of the course Simon Claisse said: 'We`ve abandoned. Temperatures got down to -5C last night and they are barely above freezing now.

'Even if the forecast milder weather arrived it would be too late.

'It`s really disappointing but we`ve given it every chance.'

Tomorrow`s mettings at Leicester and Catterick also fell by the wayside today.
