COMBINATION TO MAKE CHASE DEBUT NEXT WEEK

Trainer Len Lungo is hoping to launch Magic Combination`s chasing career at Musselburgh on Tuesday, it was revealed today.

The eight-year-old, winner of the Imperial Cup last season, joined Lungo from Barney Curley and has entries over hurdles and fences at Ayr on Saturday.

However, with stable jockey Tony Dobbin unavailable connections are hoping to run the gelding, who is among the entries for the Tote Gold Trophy, in Tuesday`s Inveresk Novices` Chase.

'He doesn`t run at Ayr,' Lungo said.

'As Tony Dobbin, who has done all the schooling on him, is at Cheltenham, we`re waiting and we`re hoping to run him in the two-mile novice chase at Musselburgh on Tuesday.

'We`ll see how he runs. If he looks like being a nice chaser his owners are keen on getting him experience in case they could have a day out with him at Cheltenham.

'We`ll take it from there. We`ve always got the option of hurdles if he doesn`t take to it although he has schooled very well and Tony`s very happy with him.'

Lungo`s exciting novice chaser Lord Of The Sky, unbeaten in four starts this season, will also be in action next week at Kelso on Thursday.

His trainer said: 'Lord Of The Sky we hope to run at Kelso next week in the Isle Of Skye Novices` Chase.

'This is a very good horse and although he sometimes jumps a little bit to the right he jumps very fast and tends to gain ground rather than losing it.

'He`s won four and you can only run so many times with them but as long as the ground remains soft and not bottomless we might take him down to Ascot or Sandown after that.'

Lungo`s Cheltenham hopes Skippers Cleuch and The Bajan Bandit will both go straight to the Festival, weather permitting.

Both are unbeaten and are being aimed at the Royal & SunAlliance Novices` Hurdle and Weatherbys Champion Bumper respectively.

'Skippers Cleuch and The Bajan Bandit go straight to Cheltenham but both will only go subject to the ground being on the easy, soft side of good,' he added.
