Calendar Girl will step up in grade and take her chance in the Goldolphin Lifetime Care Oh So Sharp Stakes at Newmarket on October 10.

Impressive Doncaster Winner Eyes Group Company

The Owen Burrows-trained two-year-old won a nice purse for her connections with an impressive victory in a valuable sales race at Doncaster but now has Group company on her agenda.

Sam Hoskins, racing manager for her owners the Kennet Valley Syndicates, said: "It's so exciting, it really is. We haven't had a good filly."

"We've been lucky enough to have some lovely horses in recent years but we haven't had a filly so it's great to have one and naturally with a filly you want to get black type, so we've got to head into Group company and have a go.

"The ground is quite quick at Newmarket at the moment but hopefully they get a bit of that rain and nice good ground will be fine for her.

"The Oh So Sharp next Friday is the idea, that's a Group Three over seven furlongs so we'll see.

Connections Optimistic About Filly's Scope for Improvement

"She's a really exciting filly. She spends plenty of time with Touleen at home and I know Touleen was a bit disappointing the other day but there are reasons why.

"We did get plenty of weight off Brussels but we beat Brussels in the sales race and Brussels was second in the Middle Park so there's reasons to be optimistic.

"Hopefully she's got a chance of being competitive up in grade. She's got loads of scope so we're hoping she's a filly that might carry on improving. Hopefully the sales race wasn't the pinnacle of her career."
