Callan Confident About Wolf

Neil Callan is looking forward to teaming up with Amadeus Wolf in the Stan James 2000 Guineas on May 6.

The Kevin Ryan-trained colt is a 14-1 shot for the Newmarket Classic after giving Callan his first Group One triumph in the Shadwell Stud Middle Park Stakes last autumn.

'He's come on really well. I sat on him last week and he felt like he'd grown up and matured even more,' Callan told At The Races.

'I think he's improved over the winter and I think he'll stay a mile. If I'm proved wrong he can always go back sprinting. I think he's a real class horse and has done so well over the winter.

'He's on target for the Guineas and he'll go straight there. I'd be more confident than hopeful.'
