Coolmore have issued a positive report on the exploratory colic surgery carried out on this year's 2000 Guineas and dual Derby winner Camelot.

The Aidan O'Brien-trained colt, who failed to become the first Triple Crown winner in over 40 years at Doncaster last month, was admitted to Fethard Veterinary Hospital on Thursday.

He last ran in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp on Sunday, where he finished seventh in the very soft ground when ridden by Frankie Dettori.

A tweet from Coolmore Stud read: "Camelot's colic surgery went well and he is doing great. The veterinary team are delighted with his progress to date."
