Camelot works impressively at Leopardstown Camelot thrilled connections with a sparkling piece of work before racing at Leopardstown this evening. The Montjeu colt is on course to emulate the great Nijinsky by completing the classic triple crown of 2,000 Guineas, Derby and St Leger if successful at Doncaster next month. Camelot worked over a mile and a half at the Foxrock track with Fame And Glory, while Killarney maiden winner Chamonix acted as a pacemaker. Fame And Glory (Seamie Heffernan) headed the driven along pacemaker approaching the straight, and Camelot then took it up over a furlong out with Joseph O'Brien sending him clear in an impressive workout. Aidan O'Brien was delighted with the exercise saying, "He's done well physically. He's made like a miler, and you can see he's carrying a bit of condition. "It's a long time from the Curragh to Doncaster so he needed to go somewhere and it was easier to come here than go to the likes of York. "It was a nice solid bit of work, an even building pace. You would have to be happy with that." O'Brien confirmed that Fame And Glory will head next for the Irish St Leger and said, "He's gone very laidback, and never woke up at Royal Ascot."
