Having won the opening race on the afternoon, Aidan O'Brien and Wayne Lordan quickly doubled up as 5/4f Cameo made all the running to take the Bermingham Cameras Irish EBF Fillies Maiden at the Curragh.

Having beat only one home on her introduction at Cork in August, the daughter of Wootton Bassett took a significant step forward when third at Punchestown last month.

Improving again in the interim, Cameo travelled strongly throughout on the front end, before quickening up over a furlong out.

Keeping on well inside the final furling, the market leader scored by two-and-a-quarter lengths.

Wayne Lordan reported: "She’s a lovely filly and we always felt she would stay.

“At Punchestown, on a tight turning track like that, everything happened a little bit quick but she stayed on well.

“Up here she was going to come into her own and I thought she won quite well.

“She popped good, I travelled good, and her ears were pricked. I thought she was enjoying it and when I went for her she picked up and kept picking up to the line.

“I think you won’t see the best of her until she goes up in trip.”
