Can Jupiter Pluvius End Ballydoyles' Classic Drought

Aidan O'Brien's highly regarded juvenile Jupiter Pluvius is set to make his long awaited racecourse debut at Curragh today. The horse that has been backed from 50-1 to 25-1 for next years Stan James 2000 has been one of the talking horses from the Ballydoyle yard this season, and is rumoured to be one of O'Brien's top two-year-old.

The horse is named after Jupiter Pluvius, who in Roman Mythology was the reliever of droughts, and O'Brien will be hoping that this horse can help him record a classic success next season, having failed to claim an English Classic in this campaign.

Should the son of Johannesburg win at the Curragh today, then it is expected that his next outing will be in the Racing Post Trophy on the 27th of October.

Tony Kenny from Hills commented 'Its amazing that a horse that hasn't run is one of our biggest losers for next years guineas' He continued 'In recent times there have been several unraced Ballydoyle horses that have been heavily backed for the classic glory, but have flopped on the racecourse'

'Those who backed Prescatorio will know exactly what I mean, and hopefully those who backed Jupiter Pluvius will get a better run for their money'
