In-form McCann looking forward to Whimsy's return Anthony McCann sent out a third winner from his last six runners when Rising Sky took the last at Dundalk on Friday evening and the Castleblayney handler is looking forward to getting his dual-purpose performer Whimsy back on track in the near future. The seven-year-old mare has won twice for the stable and been placed on a host of occasions. On her last completed start, she was a creditable third in a 100K mares' handicap hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival before falling, for the first time in 19 runs over hurdles, at Navan earlier this month.  "She might go back on the Flat. I think she is well handicapped on the Flat, so I might give her a run back on it" said McCann.  "The soft to heavy ground, that's what she wants.  "I don't think anything really came out of that race at Leopardstown - everything that ran at that DRF meeting, not too many of them turned up at Cheltenham. It took a lot out of them, and I think she was still a bit flat the last day. For her to fall at the last is not like her.  "Hopefully now we get her back. She's in good form and I think a spin on the Flat around Navan or somewhere like that.There's a couple of handicaps there and even if I spot something across the water, I'll have no problem going over there either.
