Captain Jimmy turned the extended two and three quarter mile handicap chase in Galway into a procession to the delight of favourite backers.

He tanked into contention in third racing to the final two fences in the dip and surged past last year's winner Rock On Barney after the final fence.

He soon eased clear under a confident Philip Donovan and took the honours by an easy nine and a half lengths at 3/1 for Galway trainer Pat Kelly. Classic Concorde was a remote second at 18/1 and was 12 lengths in front of Sanibel Island (11/1) as the field came home at big intervals.
